The TfL consultation on possible changes to the King’s Cross gyratory system is ready.

This initial consultation will run until Sunday 20th March 2016.
There are various ways in which you can make your views known, including four public drop-in information sessions. Times and location given below:

Friday 19 February 2016, 14:00 – 17:00
Saturday 20 February 2016, 10:00 – 12:00
Friday 26 February 2016, 10:00 – 12:00

As a resident of Wharfdale Road, I would obviously like less traffic thundering past my flat, and hopefully the finalised scheme will deliver that.
My main concerns are:
1 How will rat-running be discouraged?
2 Will anything be put in place to stop HGVs using Wharfdale Road?
3 I would like fewer (preferably no) buses travelling along Wharfdale Rd – which buses will be rerouted – and will the highly-polluting bus stop be removed?
4 Will there be traffic lights at the Wharfdale – Caledonian junction? (I hope not.)
Islington Council and TfL will have already thought about these things:

As a result of two-way traffic operation, we expect through traffic on some streets, including Swinton Street, Acton Street and Wharfdale Road, to reduce and to see an improvement in the local environment. In order to achieve these plans, there would be some changes to the turning movements in and out of roads. This would include the introduction of new permitted and banned turns.
